Elimination Diet for Allergies

Allergy-Free Woman

Adverse food reactions, also called food allergies and food intolerances, affect millions of people, and are believed to cause a variety of common health complaints and diseases.

Symptoms of food allergies can include symptoms such as: skin rashes, dermatitis, eczema, irritable bowel syndrome, fatigue, suppressed immune system, rheumatoid arthritis, depression, brain fog, neurological symptoms and much more.

The elimination diet is a method of allergy testing that is used to identify food allergies. Dr. Cooper can test for 150 different common foods and spices that you may be allergic to. The elimination diet involves removing specific foods or ingredients from your diet that you and Dr. Cooper suspect may be causing your allergy symptoms. Dr. Cooper will supervise this diet over a few weeks to determine what foods or ingredients are causing your food allergies.

After following the elimination diet, Dr. Cooper will have you gradually reintroduce the foods you were avoiding into your diet, one at a time. This process helps link allergy symptoms to specific foods.
